Upload and manage documents

  1. Open a Knowledge Base and select Upload documents.
  2. Drag files into the upload area or choose them from your device. You can also select Choose from Files and choose up to 20 existing documents.
  3. Review the selection and select Upload.

Supported formats are PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV, and HTML, up to 10 MB per file. Uploading the same filename with identical content keeps the existing indexed version without unnecessary processing.

Documents selected from Files follow the same format and size rules. The Knowledge Base receives an independent copy, so processing does not depend on the source remaining in Files.

  • Pending means the upload is reserved or waiting to process.
  • Processing means the document is being read, split, and indexed.
  • Ready means assistants can retrieve it.
  • Error means processing failed and needs review or another upload.
  • Cancelled means unfinished processing was stopped.

Use status filters and pagination in the Documents panel to find the files you need.

Select History on a document to see recent processing, skipped, failed, and cancelled results in plain language.

Stop Processing cancels unfinished work. A previously indexed version can remain available while a fresh unfinished version becomes Cancelled.

Delete starts permanent removal of the document and its searchable content. Its status remains visible until removal finishes.
