Organize groups and delete channels
Manage channel groups
Section titled “Manage channel groups”Use Groups on the Channels page to create, rename, recolor, or delete a group. A group organizes channels and can grant a restricted member access to all channels currently inside it.
A group only organizes channels and their access. Moving a channel does not change its credentials, delivery, conversations, or analytics. Deleting a group does not delete its channels; they become ungrouped.
When Contact memory is available, a group can share a combined summary for the same contact. The original per-channel memories remain separate.
Review channel deletion
Section titled “Review channel deletion”Before deletion starts, Doublewire previews affected conversations, messages, contacts, access grants, and invitations. Review which contacts keep other channels and which would become channel-less.
For a contact with another channel, deletion removes the deleted channel’s identity and related conversation data while preserving the contact’s confirmed profile details.
For a channel-less contact, the preview offers the appropriate retention or privacy-erasure choice. Restricted members cannot see a retained contact that has no channel in their allowed scope.
Delete the channel
Section titled “Delete the channel”Confirm the preview to begin deletion. The row shows Deleting until the process finishes and cannot be edited during that time. Past anonymous totals can remain in Analytics.
