Send photos, videos, files, and voice messages

Select the paperclip and choose an available action:

  • Take photo;
  • Record video;
  • Choose photo or video;
  • Choose file.

Each attachment is sent as its own message and cannot be combined with text. The original attachment can be up to 100 MB. Video and voice recordings are limited to five minutes.

On a phone or tablet, the device picker may offer its camera, recorder, and media library. Desktop devices can also use direct camera capture when the browser and hardware support it.

Review the selected attachment, upload state, and file information in the composer. Remove it to cancel, or select the send arrow when it is ready. Captured photos can be resized before upload; selected media is not converted.

Select the microphone, allow microphone access, and record. Stop to review the recording. You can play it, remove it, or send it.

Select the open icon on a photo or the play icon on a video. The viewer shows the sender and time in its header.

On desktop, photos support zoom buttons, mouse-wheel zoom, and dragging while zoomed. On touch devices, pinch to zoom and drag with one finger. Use the header download button for the original file. Supported mobile devices may open their native share sheet; otherwise the browser downloads normally.

Files without a visual preview download from their file row.

Common supported formats include JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF, MP4, WebM, MOV, PDF, RTF, text, CSV, ZIP, Microsoft Office, Open XML, and OpenDocument files. Unsupported formats are rejected before upload.
