Merge contacts and handle privacy requests

Merge and privacy actions can affect information from several conversations and channels. Doublewire shows these controls only when your access covers the required data.

Suggestions use strong, exact matches such as the same confirmed email address, confirmed phone number, or verified channel identity. Similar names, locations, devices, or behavior are not enough.

Before confirming, review the channels connected to both profiles. The profile you currently have open is the one Doublewire keeps.

  1. Open the contact you want to keep.
  2. Expand Manual merge.
  3. Enter the other profile’s Contact ID.
  4. Select Merge and review the confirmation.

The merge moves related conversations, notes, identities, form submissions, and contact memory to the retained profile.

An Undo action appears only when Doublewire has a complete restore record and the affected information has not changed since the merge. The action is available for seven days. After that, the merge remains in history but cannot be reversed from the profile.

Use Privacy / GDPR > Export JSON to download the information available to you for the contact. The export is intended for a subject-access request and contains the contact and conversation information available to you.

  1. Open Privacy / GDPR.
  2. Select Prepare Erasure.
  3. Review the deletion preview and any external destinations listed.
  4. Enter the requested Contact ID.
  5. Select Create erasure request.

The preview does not delete anything. Removal starts only after confirmation. Editing, merge, and note actions are paused while it is active.

The erasure uses the contact scope available to your account. A single channel identity cannot be selected as a separate erasure target. If your access is limited by channel, hidden identities and conversations are not included in the review.

Information already delivered to an external CRM, mailbox, webhook, or spreadsheet is not erased from that external service. The review identifies those disclosures so they can be handled separately.
