Notifications and your status

Select the bell in the header to open notifications. You can open an item, mark notifications as read, or clear the list. Opening an item takes you to the related part of Doublewire when you still have access to it.

For supported Chat alerts, an item you are already viewing while Doublewire is in focus is treated as read instead of adding another unread notification.

Push notifications can appear outside the open Doublewire window. They require:

  1. push delivery enabled in Profile,
  2. permission from the current browser or installed app,
  3. the relevant notification type enabled for push.

Permission is stored per browser or installed app. Enabling push on a laptop does not automatically enable it on a phone.

  • Available: you are active and ready to respond.
  • Busy: you manually indicated that interruptions may not be welcome.
  • Away: recent activity has stopped for a while, or you selected Away.
  • Offline: Doublewire has not seen an active session for a longer period.

Automatic status uses recent activity, not simply whether a tab exists. A manual status choice remains in effect until you change it or choose an automatic state again.

  1. Open your account menu.
  2. Select Status.
  3. Choose Available, Busy, or Away.

Offline is determined automatically and cannot be selected manually.
