Upload, organize, and share files

The actions available for a file or folder depend on your access to that item.

  1. Open My Files, Workspace files, or the folder where the content belongs.
  2. Select New folder to create a folder, or Upload to choose one or more files.
  3. Follow each transfer in the Uploads panel. You can retry a failed upload or remove it from the panel.

Uploads continue while you visit other Doublewire pages in the same browser tab. The Uploads panel remains available until each upload finishes, fails, or is cancelled.

Open an item’s actions menu to Rename it or Move it to another folder. Use the star action to add or remove it from Favorites.

Select Manage to work with several items at once. Select all loaded selects the items currently loaded in the list, not items that have not loaded yet. You can select up to 200 items at a time.

Available bulk actions include adding or removing favorites, moving, sharing, moving to the Recycle Bin, restoring, and permanent deletion. Only actions allowed for every selected item are shown.

Select a supported PDF, image, audio, or video file to open it in Doublewire. Files without an in-app preview are downloaded instead. Use Download when you need the original file on your device.

Open Version history to review earlier versions of a file. Select Upload new version to replace its current content without creating another item in the list. Earlier versions remain available in the version history.

Open Share on a personal file or folder, find a workspace member, and choose their access:

  • Can view allows the member to open and download the content.
  • Can edit also allows supported changes within the shared content.

Sharing a folder also gives access to its contents. Changes in the Share window are applied only after you select Save. Remove a member before saving when they should no longer have access.

Personal items that you shared show a Shared indicator in My Files.

  • In Chat, choose a file from Files or save a received attachment to My Files.
  • In Inbox, save an email attachment to My Files.
  • In a Knowledge Base, choose documents from Files instead of uploading them again.

Doublewire creates an independent copy for the destination. Changing or deleting the source later does not alter the copy already used there.

Move to Recycle Bin removes an item from its normal view. Open Recycle Bin and select Restore to return it, or Delete permanently to remove it without an undo option.

Select Empty Recycle Bin to permanently delete every item in the Recycle Bin. Items left there are also permanently deleted after 30 days, so restore anything you may need before then.
